Pinewoods was opened in St Johns Road on April 7, 1987.
The opening was celebrated with a private party, which is understood to have been attended by Leyton Orient footballers John Cornwell and Stephen John.
This event was recorded by the Romford Observer in newspaper archives held by Havering Libraries.
According to Havering Libraries, Pinewoods was erected over a period of six months and cost around £350,000.
The watering hole was described as having a “traditional farmhouse atmosphere with good ale and food available”.
Three years after it opened, the council received plans seeking permission for planning approval for a new banqueting area and parking provision for 11 cars.
The 1990 application was later withdrawn and instead an application was made to build an extension to the existing pub restaurant with parking for up to 60 cars.
Havering Libraries records the council’s decision as a refusal in 1991, with the pub serving its last pint in 2014.
The following year, plans were submitted for the demolition of the site to make way for three storey apartment blocks containing 32 homes.
Despite being granted approval with conditions, a second application was made in March 2016.

This was again withdrawn and new plans submitted in June 2017 for three-storey apartment blocks with 32 flats and 32 parking spaces.
The plan was refused but after being appealed, permission was granted with some amendments.
Pinewoods was torn down and Red Robin Court, Chaffinch Lodge and Dunnock Court built in its place.
