Why isn’t West Ham vs Tottenham live on TV in UK today?

West Ham and Tottenham face off in a London derby today where there are unusual stakes on the table.

It has been a disappointing Premier League campaign for both sides, so much so that this afternoon’s meeting pits 17th against 16th in the table.

Ultimately the incentive for West Ham and Spurs is to avoid finishing one place above the relegation zone, though Ange Postecoglou’s side are on course to salvage the season by winning a trophy.

After beating Bodo/Glimt in their Europa League semi-final first leg on Thursday, the Tottenham boss is expected to make changes to the starting XI in an attempt to ensure his key players are fresh for the crucial second leg next week.

As for the Hammers, their Premier League survival was confirmed last week despite losing to Brighton which stretched their winless run to seven games.

Despite this being a prominent London derby, supporters in the UK will not be able to watch the game on TV.

Why isn’t West Ham vs Tottenham on TV in UK today?

The game is being played at 2pm BST on Sunday, so does not fall within the blackout rules imposed across English football on a Saturday at 3pm.

But it has not been selected for live coverage by Sky Sports, who are instead showing Brighton vs Newcastle and then Liverpool’s first fixture after being crowned Premier League champions as they face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

How to follow West Ham vs Tottenham
