A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire at Havering Town Hall on May 20, 2024.
He has since been released without further action, a Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed.

The spokesperson said: “The investigation has since been filed due to a lack of positive lines of enquiry.
“Should further information come forward, the investigation could be considering for reopening.”
Two fire engines from Romford and Harold Hill fire stations were called to the Town Hall just before 10pm on May 20, 2024.
The fire partially damaged a ground floor office, but there were no reports of any injuries.
Firefighters contained the blaze within an hour, and the Met Police told the Recorder at the time that it appeared to have been started deliberately.
Havering Council has been contacted for comment.
