Eden Park Avenue will be shut from house numbers 200 to 270 on Monday, May 5.
The closure is for the 80th anniversary of VE Day, marking the end of fighting in Europe in World War II.
The road will be closed to through traffic between 4pm and 8pm.
A council spokesperson said: “The prohibitions shall apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.”
The order does not prevent pedestrian access to any properties on or next to the closed section of the road.
The council also stated that access to properties will be “maintained as far as is practicable” from either side of the closure.
Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.
The council’s environmental services department, traffic section, can be contacted on 020 8313 4543 for any queries about the closure.
The 80th anniversary of VE Day, known as Victory in Europe Day, marks the day in 1945 when fighting against Nazi Germany in Europe came to an end.
Street parties, concerts, and other events are expected to take place across the country to commemorate the occasion.
While the anniversary is not a public holiday, it is a significant date in the UK calendar, and many communities are planning events to remember and honour the sacrifices made during World War II.
Residents are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
