The London Fire Brigade received six calls just after 10.30am today (August 17) about a fire in a shop with flats upstairs on York Street.
Eight fire engines and 60 firefighters are responding to the fire.
Parts of the ground floor and first floor are currently on fire.
The London Fire Brigade have set up two of their 32m ladders to support the firefighters.
Six calls were made, and Control Officers have Twickenham, Richmond, Heston, and surrounding fire stations to the scene.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
A statement from the LFB reads: “Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters are responding to a fire on York Street, Twickenham.
“The fire is located in a building consisting of a commercial space with flats above.
“Parts of the ground and first floor in the building are currently alight.
“Two of the Brigade’s 32m ladders have been sent to the scene to support firefighting operations.
“The Brigade received the first of six calls reporting the fire at 1041, and Control Officers have sent crews from Twickenham, Richmond, Heston and surrounding fire stations to the scene.
“The cause of the fire is not yet known.”
