The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for fog, which will be in place from 12am to 10am tomorrow (December 17).
The government agency says patches of dense fog are likely to develop overnight and could linger into the morning commute.
London is among several regions affected by the warning, alongside parts of the South East, East of England, East Midlands, North West, West Midlands, Yorkshire and Wales.
According to the Met Office, fog is expected to form overnight before gradually clearing from the west after dawn, though it may be slower to lift in London and the South East, particularly in outer boroughs.
The warning highlights the potential for slower journey times, with delays possible to bus and train services, while flights from London airports could also be affected due to reduced visibility.
Drivers are being advised to use fog lights only when visibility is very poor, and to switch them off once conditions improve.
The Met Office said the warning has been issued because fog is likely, but the overall impact is expected to be low, with disruption limited rather than widespread.
Weather warnings can change quickly, and people travelling early on Tuesday are being urged to check the latest forecast and transport updates before setting off.
