Parry Place remains cordoned off following the daylight stabbing around 1.30pm yesterday (March 27).
In the latest update on the “shocking” incident, the police also confirmed the victim remains in hospital.
It added that there have been no arrests while investigations continue.
Local shop owner Chinyere Iwunna said shortly after the incident: “It’s a very big shock to everybody. We have not had something like this for a long time.
“There are lots of police. They closed the road and asked us to go.”
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson previously said: “Police were called at 13:34hrs on Thursday, 27 March to reports of a stabbing in Parry Place, near Plumstead Road, SE18.
“Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found a man suffering a stab injury.
“He has been taken to hospital and we await an update on his condition.
“A crime scene is in place. No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue.
