The scheme is run by cleaning company Tarem Services, which recently expanded its Mobile Foodbank initiative to Woolwich in partnership with Brookhill Children’s Centre.
Its first distribution took place on Thursday, July 31, supporting 50 families and reaching 186 people, including 106 children.

“I also warmly welcome this company, based in Brockley, to the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
“Thank you to all the staff at Brookhill Children’s Centre for everything you do to support our families in so many ways.
“And thank you again to Tarem Services for reaching out to us.”

Hazel Smith, community projects and events manager at Home-Start Greenwich, said the day was about more than food alone.
She said: “This distribution was a huge success.
“It’s about more than just providing essentials – it’s about connecting families with the support they need to thrive.
“We look forward to continuing this work together with Tarem Services to support the well-being of our local families.”
Tarem Services is a social enterprise focused on tackling in-work poverty and food insecurity, particularly among cleaners.
The Mobile Foodbank has now reached more than 1,300 people since it began, delivering essentials directly to communities affected by the rising cost of living.
The Woolwich distribution was made possible through the social value commitments of Tarem Services’ clients, Christ Church C of E Primary School and Notre Dame Catholic Primary School.
Greenwich has some of the highest child poverty rates in London, making the need for family-focused food support especially urgent.
By working with Brookhill Children’s Centre, the Mobile Foodbank has been able to reach families who are most in need of help.
Tarem Services was founded in 1999 with support from a Prince’s Trust grant and provides services including office and school cleaning, construction labour supply, pest control, and waste management.
The company builds social value into its business model, remaining committed to both social responsibility and environmental sustainability.
The expansion into Woolwich marks a significant step in its efforts to reach families facing food insecurity across London.
