Berkeley Homes has submitted new proposals for Armourer’s Court in Arsenal Way to Greenwich Council.
The development will be built on top of the Elizabeth line station box’s eastern end.
In total, 575 flats will be created in four towers between 13- and 26-storeys in height.
Three years ago, the developer was granted planning permission for a different version of the scheme, which was smaller and included 52 fewer flats.
But the buildings had to be redesigned after new fire safety rules were introduced requiring tall buildings to include a second staircase.
The new proposals are currently being considered by Greenwich Council.
Around 35 per cent of the new homes in the development would be “affordable”, with 128 flats rented out to social tenants.
Planning documents suggest that concerns have been raised by local people that the development will put a strain on Woolwich’s Elizabeth line station.
“There were concerns about the future capacity of Woolwich Elizabeth Line station, with a number of residents asking about the possibility to add an additional entrance,” the developer said.
However, the new plans do not include a second entrance for the station, meaning that the western entrance will remain the only access point.
