Located on Wood Green Common, the new facilities include a children’s playground, a multi-use games area (MUGA), and an outdoor gym.
The space has been transformed as part of Haringey Council’s wider investment in parks.
The authority said 80 per cent of respondents from three local schools backed the designs.
Councillor Peray Ahmet, leader of Haringey Council, said: “I was delighted to open the fantastic, co-designed facilities in Wood Green Common and it was lovely to see people of all ages smiling and enjoying themselves at this new play space in the warm weather.”
Visitors will also benefit from one of London’s first Football Association Playzones, funded by a £250,000 grant from the Football Foundation.
The launch event featured a mixed seven-a-side football tournament between Alexandra Primary and St Paul’s Catholic Primary teams.
Cllr Ahmet presented every participating schoolchild with a medal.
The improvements to Wood Green Common are part of a broader council scheme to improve the facilities within local green spaces, promote walking and cycling and tackle poor air quality.
