Shin-Kai, a student at Harris Academy Wimbledon, earned seven grade 9s, two grade 8s, and one grade 7.
He joins a group of high-achieving pupils being celebrated by the school this results week.
The Year 11 student has faced significant disruption throughout his school years, including multiple house moves due to family circumstances.
Shortly before his exams, he was placed into foster care.
Despite these challenges, Shin-Kai said he was “so happy” with his results.
He said: “I’m so happy with my results today and pleased that I never gave up on my studies even when things got difficult outside of school.
“While it was unsettling to move into a foster placement so close to my exams beginning, this has been a much better environment to study and allowed me to go into my exams as prepared as I could possibly be.
“I’ve been lucky to have a really great foster carer who has been so supportive over the past few months as I sat my GCSE exams.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time at Harris Academy Wimbledon so far and am grateful for the support they’ve given me, particularly when I was facing challenges and uncertainty in my family.
“I’m excited to be staying on at Harris Wimbledon for Sixth Form and am really looking forward to starting my A Level studies next month.”
He plans to study maths, further maths, physics, and economics at A-level.

Jo Larizadeh, principal of Harris Academy Wimbledon, said: “I am delighted with the fantastic results which our students have achieved today.
“Their commitment to their learning, supported by our wonderful staff, has truly paid off and we couldn’t be prouder of them.
“I look forward to seeing many of them in September as they join our Sixth Form, and wish the very best to those moving on from our academy to pursue their further education.”
