Whether you’re waiting for an important parcel or you’re holding off on ordering something, here are the posting times for Royal Mail this bank holiday.
Several retailers and businesses, including supermarkets, temporarily alter their opening times on bank holidays, and Royal Mail is no different.
Will Royal Mail post letters and parcels on a bank holiday?
In England and Wales, the bank holiday falls on Monday, August 25.
Royal Mail staff will not deliver or collect post on the bank holiday.
However, post will be delivered on Saturday, August 23, as normal, with parcels being delivered on Sunday, August 24 as it’s not considered a bank holiday.
Deliveries in Scotland are slightly different, with some households able to receive usual post deliveries and have post collected on the bank holiday.
A brief history of Royal Mail
Royal Mail shared that there will be “no collections or deliveries, except in DG1-DG5, DG7-DG9, DG11, DG16, G1- G84, KA1-KA5, KA6-KA8, KA9-KA13, KA16-KA30, ML1-ML12, PA1-PA28, PA30-PA35, PA37-PA38 and PA42-PA49” on Monday, August 25.
Normal post will continue on Tuesday, August 26 in England, Wales and Scotland.
