Located near the village of Elham in Kent, Wild Woodland Retreat offers up a unique camping experience for anyone looking for a short break, with scenic walks, shepherd huts and yoga surrounded by the resident goats.
The family-run business started by Mark and Hannah Terry has been going for a number of years, and offers a choice to camp on one of the site’s six pitches or to glamp in one of two built Shepherds Huts with cosy wood burners, with views of either the surrounding woodland or valley.
These huts feature the mod cons like a shower, kitchenette and bed linen, and can sleep up to a family of four, with the huts available to stay in throughout the year, even during the colder months, with prices starting from £150.

But aside from glamping, the campsite also offers camping pitches for families and couples that are also dog-friendly, whether you might be camping or caravanning.
For amenities, the campsite offers two hot gas showers, as well as toilets, with each camping spot having its own private area, with an option to camp in woodland or the 23-acre valley.
Campers can also bring fire pits to get cosy, although there are times during the warmer weather where fires are restricted.
What sets the campsite apart is its unique range of wellness activities from goat walks, qigong and Taoist Yoga.

If you’re a lover of yoga, the campsite offers goat yoga sessions, where you get to take part in relaxing yoga sessions surrounded by the campsite’s resident goats and sheep, with some of the residents including a herd of Golden Guernseys, Swiss Saanans, pygmy goats and 2 Swiss Valais Black Nose sheep.
But if you’re not a yoga fan but still want to have some one on one time with the animals, the campsite offers goat walks, where guests can explore the countryside along with the campsite’s resident animals.

For things to do, the campsite is located within a 25-minute drive of Canterbury and neighbours the village of Elham, located within the Kent Downs.
This picturesque village is rich in character, with 43 listed buildings, a 13th-century church, and classic pubs like the Kings Arms and Rose and Crown.
If you fancy a walk, campers can walk to Elham Valley Way, a scenic route stretching between Canterbury and Hythe, or enjoy a guided tasting at the Elham Valley Vineyard, the oldest in the region.
