The experience was created when Wild Science therapy clinic dropped in at Magnolia Court in Golder’s Green so residents could interact with creatures they might never otherwise encounter.
The therapy experts were invited to bring their menagerie of snakes, a tarantula, a scorpion, a gecko and some giant Madagasca snails by the home’s manager Cosmin Tiriteu.
“Feeling the snake and being up close and personal with exotic animals was a memorable experience,” Cosmin said.
“His expertise and passion for wildlife made the visit educational and thoroughly enjoyable for our residents.”
Wild Science was started by Joshua Jameson and Sophie Richardson in 2014 to run animal education and therapy workshops in schools and care homes.
The visit to Magnolia Court was part of a programme of stimulating activities, creating lasting memories to share with family and friends.
The home in Granville Road, run by Barchester Healthcare, provides residential and respite care as well as nursing and dementia nursing.
