Passengers were unable to enter the station in Eversholt Street, between Camden Town and Euston, yesterday morning (October 14).
The entire station was closed, and Northern line trains did not stop at Mornington Crescent while repairs took place.
According to Transport for London (TfL), the structural damage was in the ticket hall area.
TfL said today that a “small number of tiles” from the ceiling of the station fell onto the track.
Engineers were at the scene to give it the all-clear before the station was reopened to passengers in the afternoon.
A spokesperson said: “Mornington Crescent station was closed yesterday morning due to a small number of tiles falling onto the track.
“Our engineers attended the station and gave the all clear for it to reopen in the afternoon.”
