Whitehorse Road has been closed both ways for over five hours near Devonshire Road due to the crash at 6.01am this morning (March 28).
Medics have been called to the scene and a man was treated before being taken to hospital “as a priority”.
At least eight firefighters have been pictured operating on a crashed car to remove its roof and let someone out this morning.
There’s congestion to the Northcote Road and Windmill Road crossroads, and back into Croydon.
Queues are also diverting through to Windmill Road and St James’s Road.
Firefighters ripping off the roof in Croydon (Image: Contributor) A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 6.01am today (28 March) to reports of a road traffic collision on Whitehorse Road, Croydon.
“We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer.
“We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority.”
The Metropolitan Police have been approached for comment.
