East London as a whole saw a 2.25 per cent decrease in reported crime from 14,268 cases in October to 13,947 cases in November.
Of the six boroughs in the east of the capital, four registered lower crime counts in November compared to the previous month whilst two saw saw fractional increases.
As was the case for the majority of 2025, Newham registered the highest number of reported offences in November with a total of 3,467.
This was down by 6.35pc from October’s total of 3,702.
Theft, violence against the person and vehicle offences were the most recurring crime types.
Of these, only vehicle offences saw an increase in frequency from October rising from 413 to 431.
Theft and violence against the person dropped from 1,272 reports to 1,182 and 953 reports to 891 respectively.
Tower Hamlets had the next highest count with 3,163. This was down from 3,228 in October.
Theft, violence against the person and burglary were the highest contributors to Tower Hamlets crime counts in November and October.
Theft dropped marginally from 944 reports to 938 and violence against the person dropped from 925 to 886 whilst burglary rose from 251 cases to 278 in November.
Burglary and drug offences were the only crime types visible on the Met Police public tableau that increased from the previous month in Tower Hamlets.
Redbridge’s total also dropped from 2,152 in October to 2,033 in November.
The most recurring crime types were violence against the person with 710 reports, theft with 485 reports and vehicle offences with 244.
Theft and vehicle offences both saw minor increases whilst violence against the person, drug offences and burglary amongst other crimes saw decreased numbers of reports.
Waltham Forest was next in the November ranking with a total of 1,985. This was an increase of 3.49pc from the 1,918 total in October.
Violence against the person, theft and vehicle offences were again the most recurring categories of crime.
The number of theft offences reported dropped from 540 to 521 in November whilst violence against the person rose from 542 to 548 and vehicle offences rose from 195 to 246.
The number of burglaries, robberies and sexual offences also each increased in Waltham Forest.
Barking and Dagenham was the second east London borough to see its crime count rise from October (1,703) to November (1,742).
The most common crime types were violence against the person which was reported 641 times, theft which was reported 309 times and vehicle offences which saw 193 reports.
Violence against the person and vehicles offences both increased fractionally whilst theft dropped from 318 reports to 309.
Havering’s total crime count fell marginally from 1,565 in October to 1,557 in November – the lowest number of the east London boroughs.
Violence against the person, theft and vehicle offences were the most common crime types and whilst theft reports fell from 354 to 308, violence and vehicle offence reports rose from October.
Drug offences, arson and criminal damages and possession of weapons also each increased in frequency.
