East London as a whole saw a rise in criminal offences in March compared to February with a jump from 11,810 reports to 13,619 reports last month, according to the figures.
Each borough saw an increase in the number of crimes compared to February.
As was the case across February, Newham was the east London borough with the highest number of reported crimes last month with 3,371.
This was up 8.4 per cent from February.
The majority of these reports were for theft (1,217) whilst violence against the person (847) and vehicle offences (277) were the next highest contributors.
All three of these categories saw increases from the previous month but a notable decrease was seen in drug offences which registered 17.3pc fewer reports in March.
Tower Hamlets was the borough with the next most reported crime with 2,948 cases – a 21.6pc increase from February.
Violence against the person was the most reported category of crime in March with 905 cases whilst theft (890) and public order offences (230) were next most common.
Public order offences saw the biggest rise, with 53.3pc more cases in March than in February.
Waltham Forest had the next highest crime count last month with 2,064 reports – a rise of 16.8pc from February.
The borough also jumped a place in the rankings of most to least amount of crime, overtaking Redbridge which ranked third in the previous month.
Theft, violence against the person and vehicle offences were most common in Waltham Forest with 604, 546 and 212 reports respectively.
Whilst theft and violence against the person grew in frequency from February, vehicle offences were actually fewer in March, dropping by 10.17pc.
In fourth place was Redbridge with a crime count of 1,889 for March – an increase from February despite dropping behind Waltham Forest.
The top three contributors were violence against the person, theft and vehicle offences with 597, 501 and 202 cases respectively.
Vehicle offences saw a drop of 10pc from February whilst the other two categories grew.
Other categories that saw increases in reports from February were sexual offences which rose by 12.7pc, public order offences which rose by 28.1pc and possession of weapons which rose by 200pc from four instances to 12 last month.
Despite having the second lowest crime count across east London, Barking and Dagenham registered the highest increase in crime count from February – 26.9pc.
Out of the 1,724 cases in March, 633 crimes were for violence against the person whilst theft with 311 and vehicle offences with 176 followed.
All three categories were up from February’s count alongside robbery, arson and criminal damage and possession of weapons which also grew in regularity.
For the third month running, Havering was the east London borough with the lowest monthly crime count.
Across March, Havering registered 1,623 reported crimes which is 19.7pc more than in February.
With 565 reports, violence against the person was again the top contributor with theft (391) and vehicle offences (197) coming next in the list.
Theft crimes saw a marginal decrease from February although the other two categories rose – most noticeably the 51.5pc increase in violence against the person.
