The new venue is set to open its doors at 11 Strand, next to Charing Cross station.
The decision follows Westminster City Council granting a license earlier this week (on Tuesday January 6) to operate a pub and restaurant on the Strand.
This marks the 38th central London Wetherspoons.
The venue will operate across two storeys, providing entry and exit points directly from the station’s forecourt.
However, the opening date remains under wraps.
Westminster City Council initially rejected Wetherspoons’ application in 2024, but following an appeal, concerns regarding noise disturbances for local residents were reconsidered.
Wetherspoons, in its persistence, has proposed that this new pub will operate in a traditional manner, without loud music or events, in an attempt to minimise any potential nuisance.
It’s also hoped that being right next to a train and tube station, as well as several bus stops, will help clear the space quickly after last orders.
This is expected to limit the number of patrons lingering post-pub closure.
The Wetherspoons outlet is expected to accommodate approximately 320 individuals.
It will be open from 7am until 11.30pm on weeknights, midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and close half an hour earlier at 10.30pm on Sundays.
It’s yet to be added to the company’s online list of branches which are ‘opening soon’, which goes up to February 2026.
The pub chain has seen an upswing in recent openings, with new branches in Paddington, London Bridge, and Fulham.
Recently, the chain announced its expansion to Alicante Airport in Spain.
