A casualty on tracks was reported on the Southeastern line at around 2.40pm today (October 15).
Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended, however, a person was pronounced dead shortly after.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called at around 2.40pm today (15 October) to reports of a casualty on the tracks at Welling railway station.
“Officer responded with paramedics, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
