St Mary’s Church of England school in Brooke Road was targeted with email threats at 6.30am today (April 14).
Despite the threats being deemed “not credible” by the Metropolitan Police, the nursery has relocated as a precaution.
The school teaches more than 500 pupils aged between five and 11 years old, while its Little Learners Nursery teaches one to four-year-olds.
The incidents are believed to be linked to threats made to schools in Sheffield.
A police spokesman said: “An investigation is ongoing, however at this stage the threats are not being treated as credible.”
Stella Creasy, MP for Walthamstow, said: “I know that parents are sharing the understandably concerning email about St Marys school they have received this morning.
“I can confirm that the school has received a threat that is being taken seriously.
“I recognise this is shocking – for someone to threaten a school.”
She added: “The police are working with the school and with their colleagues in South Yorkshire to apprehend the perpetrator.
“There is nothing to suggest in either the threat made, or the schools involved any faith connection to this incident.
“The school have made arrangements to support the children attending the nursery offsite so if your child is one of those, please do contact them for further details.”
Reports of the threats were made at around 6.30am on Monday, April 14.
The police are continuing to investigate the threats and are working with South Yorkshire Police.
