The incident happened at around 5pm in Wallington, when officers from the South Area Police Team stopped a vehicle suspected of involvement in county drug lines activity.
The driver allegedly tried to flee, reportedly attempting to run over a police officer and ramming two police cars.
No serious injuries were reported, and a man was detained at the scene.
Further investigations found the driver was allegedly using fake driving licences and had registered the vehicle to a false address.
Joshua Game, 30, from Lambeth, was charged on January 2 with assault on an emergency worker, driving without insurance, failing to stop, and criminal damage to a motor vehicle.
He has been remanded in custody.
