The latest updates were celebrated at a community event held at Twickenham Rowing Club.
Councillor Gareth Roberts, leader of Richmond Council, said: “We’re seeing plans turn into reality.
“Demolition is almost complete, and the site is being prepared for construction – but this is just the beginning.”

Demolition work is expected to finish early in the new year, followed by final site clearance.
Main construction works are scheduled to begin in spring 2026.
The drop-in event, hosted by Richmond Council and delivery partner Kier, allowed residents to meet contractors and councillors, see site visuals, and learn about the next phases of the project.

The scheme will create new public spaces, including terraced lawns, gardens, play areas, and riverside seating.
It will also deliver 45 new homes, half of which will be affordable, as well as new shops, a café, community spaces, and improved connections to King Street, Wharf Lane, Water Lane, and the riverside.

Cllr Roberts said that even bigger milestones were expected in the coming year.
He said: “Next year will see even bigger milestones as the main building works begin and we start to see the council’s vision for a vibrant, accessible riverside come to life.”
Councillor Jim Millard, lead member for finance, drew attention to the scale of the project and the council’s efforts to keep the public informed.
He said: “A regeneration of this scale comes with many challenges, but we are meeting those head on.”
