Virgin Atlantic Holidays has teamed up with Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. to transform Battersea Power Station into a vibrant Barbadian escape, complete with the island’s sights, sounds and flavours.

The 12-week summer campaign includes a series of free events, immersive experiences and a pop-up shop, all designed to give visitors a taste of the Caribbean without leaving London.

Annabelle Cordelli, senior vice president of global brand and marketing at Virgin Atlantic, said: “Barbados is one of our most loved Caribbean destinations and this summer, we’re bringing the Virgin Atlantic Holidays Barbados experience to Battersea Power Station – showcasing the premium experience-led holidays that inspire you.”

The campaign runs from June through August and includes Bajan street food, steel drum performances, sunset DJ sessions, and complimentary yoga in the park.

A Road Tennis tournament will introduce visitors to Barbados’ unique sporting culture, while chef Randolph Bancroft will lead live cooking demonstrations celebrating the island’s cuisine.

Virgin Atlantic Holidays will host a pop-up store in Turbine Hall B from July 28 to August 3, where guests can speak with holiday experts, browse exclusive offers, and plan their next getaway.

Barbados has long been a favourite destination for UK travellers, offering year-round sunshine, luxury resorts, vibrant nightlife and beautiful beaches.

Virgin Atlantic operates daily flights to Grantley Adams International Airport from both London Heathrow and Manchester.

Elan Mottley Harris, UK director for Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc., said: “We’re excited to bring the spirit and energy of Barbados to Battersea Power Station, in a true celebration of our culture.

“Whether it’s introducing people to Road Tennis, our beloved indigenous sport, or sharing the rich flavours of Bajan cuisine, it’s all about giving Londoners an authentic taste of the island.

“Our partnership with Virgin Atlantic Holidays is incredibly important to us.

“Together, we are bringing the warmth, vibrancy and rhythm of Barbados right into the heart of London, and we couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve created.”

The schedule of events includes:

– Sunshine Yoga: Morning yoga sessions in Power Station Park on June 30, July 4, 5, 7, 11 and 12 (pre-booking required). – Road Tennis Tournament: Daily competitions from June 16 to 29 in Power Station Park. – Bajan Street Food Experience: Live cooking demonstrations and tastings by chef Randolph Bancroft on July 12 from 11am to 3pm. – Sunset Sessions: Caribbean DJ sets and a rum bar on The Coaling Jetty on August 22 and 23 from 5pm to 8pm (pre-booking required). – Steel Drum Band: Performances across the estate on August 1 and 2. – Chill Zone: A Barbados-themed relaxation lounge in Turbine Hall B from June 6 to August 25.

Renee Moran, interim head of asset management at Battersea Power Station Development Company, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Virgin Atlantic Holidays and Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc.

“to bring a taste of Barbados and the Caribbean to Battersea Power Station this summer.

“From sunshine yoga to delicious Bajan street food, live music and a chance to try Barbados’ iconic sport, Road Tennis, there will be something for everyone to enjoy, alongside the 150 shops, bars, restaurants and leisure venues that call Battersea Power Station home.”
