Plainclothes officers from British Transport Police arrested a 19-year-old man on Monday night (March 31).
Police say a suspect was arrested “within minutes” of the sexual assault.
The victim has received support from officers, while the suspect was taken to custody.
“You might not see our officers, but they are there,” a British Transport Police spokesperson added.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Last night our plain clothes officers arrested a man, 19, at Highbury & Islington station within minutes of seeing him sexually assault a woman on the Victoria Line.
“She was supported by officers & the man was taken to custody.
“You might not see our officers, but they are there.”
