Firefighters were called to Vicarage Park today (December 4) at 6.06am after 11 calls were initially made to reports of the blaze.
Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were sent to the scene.
Crews spent hours tackling the blaze as locals complained about thick smoke surrounding Plumstead.
It was eventually under control by 8.18am, but firefighters remain at the scene to fully extinguish it.
Footage sent to the News Shopper shows a collapsed roof as the blaze was ongoing.

The London Fire Brigade has not detailed any damages from the fire at this time.
Its cause is also unknown.
Over three hours later, Plumstead Road remains closed eastbound from Burrage Road to Pettman Crescent due to the incident.
Ten bus routes are also being diverted from the scene.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “Crews from Plumstead, East Greenwich, Eltham, Erith and Lee Green fire stations, as well as a 32-metre turntable ladder from East Greenwich Fire Station, have been in attendance.
“The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.”
