Andrew Clark was attacked outside the supermarket on Upper Elmers End Road just before 8.30pm on March 16.
Police and paramedics arrived but the 43-year-old died three days later on March 19 after sustaining critical head injuries.

He appeared at the Old Bailey that same day and was placed into custody.
Williams was previously charged with grievous bodily harm on March 18, the day before Andrew died.
Williams will next appear on June 10 at the Old Bailey.
MP for Beckenham and Penge Liam Conlon previously said in a statement: “Police have said this appears to be a random attack following an altercation, and no weapon was involved.
He added: “I would like to offer my condolences to the victim’s family and loved ones at this difficult time, and have offered my support to them and the police.”
Andrew’s family continue to be supported by specialist officers.
