Police were called to the station in Upney Lane yesterday (January 15) at 6.27pm to reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Medics took the person to hospital, where their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The British Transport Police (BTP) says the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
At the time there was no service on the District line between Barking and Upminster, with severe delays on the rest of the line.
A BTP spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Upney underground station at 6.27pm yesterday (January 15) to reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended and a person was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
