They are part of the TwelveTrees Park development which has reached a key milestone with the delivery of 110 ‘affordable’ homes and the bridges as part of the transformation of a former Parcelforce depot.
Led by the Berkeley Group in partnership with the Greater London Authority, Newham Council, Homes England, and Peabody, the 26-acre site is set to deliver more than 4,700 homes and significant new infrastructure when complete.
The first completed homes include 45 social rent and 65 shared ownership properties.

“It’s fantastic to see the first 100 affordable homes delivered, alongside the two pedestrian bridges that will connect the site to the wider West Ham community for the first time.
“As the development continues, creating thousands of jobs, I look forward to seeing the regeneration of the site and all the new benefits it will bring to local residents as we continue to build a better, fairer London for all.”
The pedestrian bridges reconnect the site to the surrounding community, reducing the walk to West Ham station from 20 minutes to just two.

The development will also feature a 1,000-pupil secondary school, a new entrance to West Ham station, and a 12-acre park.
The project will create more than 8,000 construction jobs over its lifetime and 500 permanent roles once completed.
It is also contributing £67 million towards improvements to infrastructure and services through a Section 106 agreement and the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).
