The construction of an 82-bed Travelodge hotel on the site of 11 Station Road was approved following an appeal on January 16 last year.
As part of the site redevelopment, existing buildings on the land required demolition.
The completion of this step was captured in drone images earlier this year, showing a digger and large black tarpaulin draped over a dirt mound.

Havering Council gave non-conditional approval to the amendment of the approved use of the ground floor commercial floor space to include all uses under use class E which includes restaurants and cafes.
In May, a licensing bid was entered to Havering Council seeking permission for the provision and sale of alcohol from the site seven days of the week.

This paper now understands that the licensing for the commercial space has now been secured in one of the latest steps taken in the project.

New drone images have shown parts of the foundations of the Upminster Travelodge beginning to take shape, with what appears to be concrete and rebar grids lain on part of the site.
