Transport for London (TfL) will begin the works at 10pm on Sunday, July 13 as part of its programme to renew the London Trams infrastructure and ensure a safe and reliable service.
No tram services will operate in Croydon town centre during the project.
Trams will resume normal operations from the start of service on Monday, July 28.
Mark Davis, TfL’s general manager for London Trams, said: “This planned maintenance for essential track renewal works in Croydon will ensure we can continue to offer customers a safe and reliable service across the London Trams network.
“I would like to thank customers for their patience while this takes place and would ask anyone travelling to plan ahead, allowing plenty of time for any journey.”
The works will see around 300 metres of new track laid between West Croydon and Wellesley Road tram stops, along with sleeper replacements on the Wandle Park flyover.
Track replacement will take place from July 14 to 27, while sleeper replacement will occur from July 23 to 27.
During this period, a tram replacement bus service will run between East Croydon and Waddon Marsh.
Service changes include:

Passengers are advised to use local bus services, though a small number of stops will be suspended during the works.
Notices will be posted to direct customers to alternative stops.
TfL has provided travel time estimates for affected routes.
