The lorries – which were abandoned on the layby of A1306 New Road, Rainham – have now been moved, despite Havering Council previously saying it would cost “several thousand pounds” to get rid of them.
Colin Giles, a resident of Jordans Way, told the Recorder that one of the vehicles had been there for more than a year, while the other was dumped around Christmas 2024.
He and other residents had notified the council on “several occasions” about the trailers and the fly-tipping building up behind them, but no attempt was made to remove the vehicles.
Colin now hopes the council can stop similar fly-tipping incidents in Rainham.

“I don’t know why it should have taken this long to get this sorted out,” he told the Recorder.
“I hope that the council can put in place measures to prevent something like this happening again.”

He had also reached out to Cllr Jacqueline McArdle, who represents the Rainham and Wennington ward, for help in bringing the problem to the attention of the council.
She said she believes the trailers’ removal is a “direct result” of the issue being widely reported and shared on social media.
Cllr McArdle added: “Thankfully after several months of reporting and chasing with officers these trailers are finally gone.
“It’s very frustrating as a councillor when you have to constantly chase things and also for the residents who report these things to you.”
Havering Council has not yet confirmed the trailers were removed by the authority, but the Recorder has contacted the council for comment.
