A bus shelter on Commercial Street in Tower Hamlets has been transformed into a Seville-inspired escape by online travel agent loveholidays, complete with an orange tree and the scent of fresh citrus.
The aroma is created using a vapourised scent-diffusion system that fills the air with the smell of oranges.

Al Murray, chief marketing officer at loveholidays, said: “We know that January can feel like a drag, so we wanted to bring a breath of fresh air, and a hint of citrus, to the heart of London.
“Travel is all about the senses, and by transforming a mundane moment like waiting for the bus into an orange-scented Seville escape, we’re reminding people that their next great getaway is closer than they think.”
Commuters and passersby are being encouraged to take a “smellfie” at the orange-scented stop and share it on Instagram or TikTok, tagging @loveholidaysofficial.
By doing so, they will be entered into a competition to win a holiday worth £3,000. The sensory installation will remain in place until Sunday, January 25.
