She was nominated by staff for the Pearson awards that mark “the excellent work of the UK’s leading teachers”.
Deputy Head Michaela Marshall said: “Emily has created an environment with pupils achieving standards which often exceed the national average under her leadership. Almost half our pupils are from disadvantaged backgrounds and most have English only as a second language.”
The school in Ashley Road, Tottenham Hale, was judged ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2017 and 2023.
Only 10 primary school teachers received the Bronze, putting Emily among the country’s “most accomplished”.
Her ‘community focused’ school runs early morning and holiday teaching sessions aimed at closing gaps in learning, often running these herself, and extending support to Tottenham’s working families, especially those from deprived backgrounds.
