New rankings from the Department for Education highlight the best-performing primary schools in the two boroughs, giving parents a clearer picture of where pupils consistently performed well during the 2024–2025 academic year.
According to the data, Bromley had the second-highest ranking in south-east London, with 77 per cent of pupils meeting the expected standard in reading, writing and maths.
In contrast, Bexley recorded the lowest ranking among the south-east London boroughs, at 67 per cent.
The highest-performing school in Bexley was St Stephen’s Catholic Primary School, with 93pc of pupils meeting the expected standard.
In Bromley, Harris Primary Academy Beckenham Green took the top spot, with an even higher score of 97pc.
Schools showing a zero per cent result due to insufficient data have been removed from the lists.
Pupils are only counted as meeting the expected standard overall if they achieve the standard in all three subjects.
The expected standard in reading and maths is a scaled score of 100 or above, while writing is assessed by teachers, with pupils judged as “working at the expected standard” or “working at greater depth”.
The deadline to apply for primary school placements is January 15 for entry in September 2026.
