Maintracts Services, based in Tooting, has launched its ‘Service Your Plumbing Like Your Boiler’ campaign as part of Men’s Health Awareness Month this November.
The campaign uses plumbing analogies to encourage men to prioritise regular health check-ups, likening the importance of early detection in health to routine boiler servicing to prevent costly repairs.

Maintracts Services operates across South London and surrounding areas, including Bromley, West Wickham, Croydon, Lewisham, and Penge.
Oliver Osmore, director of Maintracts Services, said: “Just like a boiler needs regular servicing to avoid costly problems, men’s health needs attention too.
“This November, we’re encouraging everyone to ‘service your plumbing’, inside and out, and for every boiler service booked, we’ll donate £5 to Movember to support vital men’s health initiatives.
“Working in a male-dominated industry, we understand how easy it can be for men to put their health on the back burner.”

The campaign carries personal significance for the company, as managing director Malcolm Osmore was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer during routine blood tests prompted by a persistent cough.
Mr Osmore said: “I’ve never been more grateful for a cough in my life.
“It led me to a check-up that could have been life-saving.
“Men often put off visiting their GP, but regular health maintenance is just as important as servicing your boiler or booking a car MOT.”
Throughout November, Maintracts is promoting health check-ups through a dedicated blog, social media content, and outreach to businesses.
The blog includes practical advice, links to trusted health charities, and reminders to book GP appointments.
The company has also pledged to donate £5 to Movember for every boiler service booked during the month.
Maintracts hopes the campaign will spark conversations and remind men to prioritise their health, especially in a sector where such topics can often be overlooked.
Mr Osmore said: “We want to educate as many people as possible on the importance of proactively booking a health check by sharing vital NHS, BHF, Bowel Cancer UK, and Movember resources throughout November.”
The campaign encourages not just customers, but colleagues, tradesmen, and other businesses to help spread the message.
Mr Osmore said: “In our trade, prevention is always better than cure.
“The same applies to our health – small checks now can prevent serious breakdowns later.”
