Beginning Sunday, March 30, the London skyscraper will light up each hour from sunset until 1am, marking the switch to British Summer Time.
The top 20 storeys will illuminate with 575 LED units in a striking display, before transitioning to a low-power mode for the rest of the night.
The Shard said the display is meant to create a legacy for London, adding that the landmark will take its place in the skyline as an enduring symbol of the city.
Standing over 1,000ft above sea level, the building will be the tallest illuminated timekeeper in the UK.
A spokesperson for The Shard said: “The Shard aims to create a legacy for London through a truly unique display.”
