The Plough, in Front Lane, shut today (January 19) for a two-week revamp involving upgrades both inside and outside the pub.
Pub company Craft Union, which owns The Plough, has revealed more details about the works, which are set to give the boozer a “fresh new look”.
A key part of the refurb will be the introduction of a new darts and pool area, with the aim of attracting more sports fans and pub teams.
Other improvements inside include new flooring, upgraded lighting and modernised bar equipment.
Externally, the venue is set for new signage and essential repairs to the car park.
Craft Union called The Plough’s refurbishment “major”, adding that the “significant investment” will help to improve customer experience.
The pub’s operator said: “The Plough is a pub that means a lot to the local community, and this refurbishment is about giving it the update it deserves.
“We’re really excited to reopen with improved facilities, a refreshed look, and new areas for customers to enjoy.”
The Plough will reopen on February 3.
