The Pipe Major, in Yewtree Avenue, shut early yesterday (August 4) and remained closed to punters today (August 5) after a water leak at the venue.
A spokesperson for pub company Marston’s, which owns the boozer, confirmed that the mains had to be shut off to allow for repairs.
They added that there has been “no ceiling collapse” at the venue.

The spokesperson said: “We can confirm that The Pipe Major temporarily closed early yesterday due to a water leak, which required the mains to be shut off to allow for repairs.
“The team has been working quickly to resolve the issue and is aiming to reopen by 6pm this evening.”
It has been just more than a month since The Pipe Major reopened after a refurbishment which cost more than £300,000.
The pub was given a “fresh look” and “upgraded features” , including separating the venue into two distinct areas, one for sports and the other a family-focused lounge.
