The Kings Arms, in Stifford Clays Road, Orsett, was chosen as one of only six pubs across the UK to receive a recognition award from Star Pubs, owned by Heineken, out of 2,400.
It is also the only pub in the south east to receive this award.

The Kings Arms is also in the running as a finalist for a star award in the Great British Pub Awards.
Mother and daughter team, Vicki and Jade Gracie, have managed the Kings Arms since October 2023 after a £160,000 refurbishment.
Vicki, who lives opposite the pub, used to work there and was keen to ensure it became a hub for the community.

It now employs 12 staff, including four chefs.
The pair, both florists by profession, have worked on the pub’s decor.
They have also organised events ranging from Morris dancers and tribute acts to themed nights such as Grease, Mamma Mia, and Michael Jackson.
Vicki said: “Jade and I are thrilled to receive this award and blown away to have been announced as finalists in the Great British Pub Awards.
“It’s lovely to be recognised.
“But most of all we’re proud that The Kings Arms has become the beating heart of the community.
“It’s a warm and welcoming pub where everyone is welcome and where women feel safe coming in on their own.
“We love bringing joy into people’s lives and bringing the community together.”
Rob Clark, Star Pubs operations director, said: “Only a handful out of 2,400 pubs have been selected for an award this year and only one in the south east – The Kings Arms in Orsett.
“It speaks volumes about the impact Vicki and Jade have had on the local Orsett community since taking on The Kings Arms and their hard work, passion and commitment to both The Kings Arms and Orsett itself.”
