The museum has partnered with art materials maker Faber-Castell to bring Janet and Allan Ahlberg’s The Jolly Postman to life through creative workshops and interactive storytelling, designed to entertain and inspire young visitors and their families.
All activities are included with standard museum admission at no extra cost, offering a full day of fun. This includes entry to The Jolly Postman exhibition and a ride on the underground Mail Rail.
Stefan Rosen, sales director Europe at Faber-Castell, said: “We are excited to have partnered with The Postal Museum on their exhibition, celebrating 40 years of The Jolly Postman. A book familiar to many families, our Faber-Castell Playing & Learning range is the perfect fit and we can’t wait to share our products with all who visit and beyond.”
The Jolly Postman Arts & Crafts: Deliver to Fairy-tale Land invites children to create clues to help The Jolly Postman deliver his letters to the right fairytale characters.
Participants can draw or write messages to their favourite characters using Faber-Castell’s art materials. The activity is recommended for children aged three and up.
A 45-minute storytelling session will also take visitors on a magical delivery round, filled with songs, signs, rhymes, and interactive props. It is best suited for children aged three to eight, but open to all, the session promises plenty of hands-on fun.
The Postal Museum said it is “delighted” to be working with Faber-Castell on the arts and crafts programme throughout 2026. Faber-Castell will also support the museum’s outreach to primary schools nationwide.
General admission tickets include one ride on Mail Rail on your first visit and unlimited entry to The Postal Museum’s galleries and exhibitions for one year from the date of your first visit. Pre-booking is recommended.
Tickets for the Sorted postal play space are sold separately and cost £4.50 per child and £2.50 for accompanying adults. All family activities are included with museum entry, making for a value-packed day out in the capital.
