The Greyhound Harvester in High Road is temporarily closed as works began on Tuesday (April 22).
The national chain told this paper today (April 25) that the site is “undergoing an exciting renovation to give the popular restaurant an exciting new look and feel”.
Changes to the restaurant include new interiors, furniture and lighting.
“Most excitingly will be a huge investment in the garden and outdoor dining area, creating brand new seating for guests to enjoy,” Harvester said.
New jobs have also been created.
According to Harvester, general manager Grant Apps has already recruited talent locally ahead of the new opening, with more opportunities to follow for both waiting and chef roles in May and June.
The restaurant is set to reopen its doors on May 15.
Grant said: “We’re so excited to reopen our doors and reveal our brand new look.
“We can’t wait to welcome guests, old and new, to join us for some great food in all-new surroundings.
“Myself and the rest of the team at the Greyhound are excited to share our brand new, refreshed restaurant with our guests and we’re sure they will be really pleased with the new look and our new menu.”
On Harvester’s website it confirms the next closest branch is in Gidea Park whilst other nearby Harvester restaurants include in Abbs Cross Lane in Hornchurch and in Beehive Lane in Ilford.
