One Facebook post has taken a photo of an apparent eviction notice on The Florist Arms in Globe Road.
The photographed notice said the lease was terminated and a peaceable re-entry of the premises was made on August 12.
A post was made on Facebook on Wednesday (August 20) by Simon Lewis Hughes, who took an image of the notice on the window of the pub.
He wrote “Florist is closed”.
The Florist Arms appears to be closed (Image: Google) The paper stuck to the window is addressed to the tenant of The Florist Arms and is written by Trustee Properties Limited, the landlord.
The notice claims that on May 19 this year, the tenant was given notice that he was in breach of the terms of his lease due to alleged rent arrears.
It reads: “On August 12, 2025, in accordance with the terms of your lease, your landlord effected peaceable re-entry of this premises and forfeited your lease.
Simon Lewis Hughes posted this photo on Wednesday (Image: Simon Lewis Hughes) “The lease is now terminated and you have no right to occupy or gain access to the premises.
“Any attempt to access the premises is criminal trespass and the police will be notified.”
We have attempted to call The Florist Arms on three occasions but received no answer.
Another post was made publicly by Greg Richards on August 9.
He wrote: “Such a disappointment to find The Florist Arms pub in Bethnal Green has finally closed its doors.
“We arrived there today to find management had decided to close down the pub without any warning to customers.
“Thanks to the bar staff that done excellent work throughout and hope to catch you all at a new premises.”
