It is the latest instance of unrest near The Bell Hotel in High Road, as tensions continue to boil over in connection to the use of venue as accommodation for asylum seekers.
Just this week, Epping Forest District Council was denied the chance to lodge an appeal after its injunction to prevent the housing of asylum seekers at the premises was overturned.
Footage seen by this paper showed the moment lit flares were thrown in the direction of the hotel on September 5, with local police putting into place a dispersal order.
Under the order, officers were granted temporary powers to ask individuals committing anti-social behaviour, or believed to be intent on committing anti-social behaviour, to leave the area.
Chf Supt Simon Anslow said: “We’ll continue to have a significant policing presence in the area this evening and our officers will be back on patrol over the weekend.

“Lighting flares in public spaces poses a clear and real risk to anyone nearby.
“They cannot be used to damage property or harass others, and anyone we identify in connection with those used tonight (September 5) will be subject to arrest.”
A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and has been taken into custody.
