The 2025 Kevin Jenkins OBE Easter Egg Appeal was launched by the Ambition Aspire Achieve (AAA) charity, based in Canning Town.
Actor, writer and comedian Ricky Grover, AAA patron, made a plea for the public’s support for the initiative.
The charity is aiming to get 2,000 Easter egg donations in time for Easter Sunday, in partnership with the Newham Recorder.
This year’s appeal has already been pledged offers to help by members of the Triumph East London Bikers Club, who plan to ride to Canning Town in large numbers as they have been doing every Easter since 2016, to deliver the eggs on March 29.
Requests have been coming in from schools and social services referring children in need to the charity, appeal co-ordinator Paula Blake said.
She added: “All those referred will living in a family impacted by poverty and the gift of an Easter egg will at least be a lovely surprise, ensuring they can enjoy an Easter which other children may take for granted.”
To support the appeal, you can add an additional Easter egg to your shopping list or organise a workplace or club collection.
Supporters can also donate directly to the appeal’s JustGiving page justgiving.com/campaign/easter25 or via a dedicated Amazon wish list at amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/3H8505ODV0ESK/ref=hz_ls_biz_ex.
