The burst pipe on Richmond Hill Court has left homes with the postcode TW10 without water or with low pressure today (July 22).
Thames Water said they have now successfully stopped the water flow from the damaged pipe.
A spokesperson for Thames Water said: “If your tap water wasn’t flowing properly this morning, we’re sorry for the disruption.
“Your water should now be restored, although you may notice slightly lower pressure than usual.
“We’ve successfully stopped the water flow from the damaged pipe and will continue repair work throughout the night.”
While Thames Water complete the repair, the company is adding water back into its pipes using tankers, so as many customers as possible can turn on their taps again.
A spokesperson added: “Tankers are large vehicles filled with water, which you may see parked in your area over the next couple of hours.
“Unfortunately, some water has entered the gas network and we’re working with Cadent Gas to get things back to normal.
“If anyone is having problems with their gas supply as a result of the burst, please call Cadent on 0800 389 8000 or check their website.
“Our Customer Representatives remain in the area supporting those affected, please do speak to them if you have any issues.
“We know how disruptive it is if you lose your water supply, so we’ll work hard to get things back to normal as soon as we can.”
