Thames Ditton and Esher Golf Club, established in 1892 and regarded as “one of Britian’s oldest golf clubs” has been damaged with the hateful symbol on February 15.
Surrey Police neighbourhood officers then visited the club last Tuesday (February 18) to investigate CCTV and speak to neighbouring properties.
Police believe that two dirt bikes may have previously entered the premises and caused damage in the past on January 11 this year and November 2024.
Enquiries into the swastika are ongoing.
According to the club, neighbouring clubs including the Wimbledon Golf Club and Old Cranleighans have also been targeted.
The club is calling on locals to be extra vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to the Police.
Mark Rodbard, general manager, Thames Ditton and Esher Golf Club said: “Waking up to find our cherished course vandalised has sent shock waves through the club.
“This mindless vandalism doesn’t just affect our golfers, but the thousands of people who walk their dog, or enjoy the common land every week.
“We are urging residents to help by remaining vigilant, and any information that helps lead to prosecution will earn a year’s free membership or a pizza a month at the club house restaurant as a thank you.”
