The ‘What’s On’ brochure, detailing events, workshops, and exhibitions for children and adults, will be available until the end of October.
The Play in the Park scheme offers outdoor fun, with sessions across the district, supported by local councils.
Children and their parents or carers can enjoy various sports and arts and crafts activities, all for free.
The Teddy Bear’s Picnic, organised by the Countrycare team, invites children to enjoy outdoor fun at Linder’s Field Local Nature Reserve, Roebuck Lane, Buckhurst Hill.
Youngsters should bring along a picnic and a teddy for activities such as bug hunting, crafts, and nature trails.
The event is on Wednesday, August 13, from 12pm to 2pm.
The picnic is priced at £2.50 and caters to children aged 3 to 6.
A two-day Shrek-themed workshop will be held at North Weald Village Hall.
Children can work with a professional choreographer to recreate scenes and musical numbers from the hit film Shrek.
The workshop, suitable for children aged 6 to 13, runs on Monday, August 18, and Tuesday, August 19, from 10am to 3.30pm, priced at £56.
The Countrycare team will also host an evening dedicated to observing moths at Weald Common, North Weald Bassett, on Friday, September 19.
The free event is suitable for children aged five and above and runs from 8pm to 10pm.
The West Essex Inclusion Project, supporting children and young people with learning difficulties or disabilities, will also be organising sport and leisure activities throughout the summer.
Further details of all these activities, including booking information, can be found in the ‘What’s On’ brochure.
More activities are expected to be announced as the summer progresses.
