Going for a meal in London is one thing, but when you find a spot with a view of a London landmark it’s a gamechanger.
Located next to the Thames just in front of the HMS Belfast and just a few minutes’ walk from The Bridge Theatre and The Tower of London you’ll find Tavolino.
Tavolino serves up a menu of traditional Italian dishes along with wines and Aperitifs and in my opinion, has one of the best views of Tower Bridge and The Tower of London with floor to ceiling glass windows to give panoramic views of the Thames.

The menu serves up a mix of classic Italian foods including speciality pastas, sourdough pizzas and authentic Italian desserts.
We started off with some cocktails, the cocktail menu is small but has some good Italian options like their Strawberry Negroni and various spritz with prices ranging between £13 and £15.
The Raspberry Mule and Amore were among some of my personal favourites.

One thing I wanted to try was one of Tavolino’s speciality pastas and the menu had some enticing options like the spicy pork and ‘nduja ragu tagliatelle pecorino 19.5 Amatriciana rigatoni guanciale, tomatoes, Parmesan and the Pappardelle lamb ragu.
I opted to try the Spinach and ricotta filled pappardelle with tomato butter, confit datterino and lemon, I have to say as far as pastas go this dish hit the spot it had a lot of flavour and was fresh with the lemon and tomato – and I’d order it again.

We also tried the spicy pork and ‘nduja ragu tagliatelle pecorino which was also good with the sweetness of the pork and spininess from the chilli.
But for me the desserts were really where Tavolino shone with classic Italian options like Pana cotta, Budino and Tiramisu.

We tried the Strawberry, basil and custard panna cotta and the chocolate torta caprese – a rich chocolate cake served with raspberry compôte and gelato.
Both were delicious but the chocolate torta caprese was a firm favourite and I’d visit Tavolino again to work through the dessert menu alone.
With great views of London and a its relaxed vibe Tavolini is well worth a visit for some pre-theatre dining or if you’re visiting any one of its nearby attractions this summer.
