A Finsbury Park Indian has been named North London’s top Asian restaurant at the ‘Curry Oscars.’
Taste of Goa in Crouch Hill was among the winners crowned at the annual Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards 2025.
The gongs were handed out at a ceremony on Monday night (October 6) at the London Hilton in Park Lane.

It ranks among the UK’s biggest celebration of Pan Asian cuisine, with categories honouring regional restaurants alongside chefs and take-aways.
A guest list of Asian restaurateurs, MPs and celebrities saw Taste of Goa scoop the award for best North London restaurant fighting off competition from Pino’s Warung in Camden Market, Taste of Nawab in Muswell Hill, and Ruhit’s Indian Cuisine in Sidmouth Parade, Brent.
The restaurant and take-away serves all the familiar favourites – from Tandoori Chicken to Lamb biriyani.
But they specialise in the coastal region’s rich cuisine with its Portuguese influences, serving the likes of Peri Peri fish, Lamb Xacut, Goan fish curry, smoky aromatic Chicken Cafreal, crab with coconut, raisins, spinach and cashew nuts, and King Prawn Balchão.
ARTA Founder Mohammed Munim told the audience: “Heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and finalists of ARTA 2025 – the outstanding Pan Asian restaurants, takeaways, and chefs who continue to set the benchmark for excellence in the UK’s hospitality scene.
“As the leading awards celebrating the best of the UK’s Asian restaurant and takeaway sector, we recognise your dedication and passion, which bring extraordinary flavours and experiences to diners nationwide, even amidst challenges.
“This industry represents more than just food; it is a celebration of the richness of multicultural Britain.
“Despite the ongoing challenges faced by the sector – from rising costs and labour shortages to recent changes in immigration rules affecting skilled chef recruitment – we continue to celebrate the resilience, creativity, and excellence of the Pan Asian restaurant and takeaway community. Your commitment ensures that the flavours, traditions, and innovation that define this industry continue to thrive across the UK.”
